An extra month’s holiday? Yes please!

Flexible and hybrid working arrangements have become the norm in the post-pandemic world, with work-life balance now top of the agenda. Many employees feel these arrangements contribute positively to their mental health, reducing the pressure of rigid schedules and opening the possibility of a work environment that meets personal as well as professional goals. At Corecom, we took this one step further with the introduction of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy in 2022.

The policy gives our team members the ability to work anywhere in the world for up to a month, with the option of combining this time with annual leave to really make the most of the trip. This means our people can work from anywhere multiple times a year by spreading out the months’ allowance, maximising the opportunities for travel.

Corecom’s Operations superstar Molly Sagar recently utilised this benefit and took off to Alicante, Spain for two weeks to enjoy working aboard in the sun, with a day’s annual leave in the middle of each week. Molly was able to go on beach walks and runs every morning, go for a dip in the sea on lunch, and eat copious amounts of delicious Spanish food, all whilst working flexible hours to fit around her new routine.

Corecom’s outstanding Finance Assistant Olga Plotnikova also took the opportunity to work abroad and spend time with family in Latvia for 2 weeks, using a few days’ annual leave too. Usually confined to one week’s annual leave in Latvia, Olga was able to attend family BBQs, dinners out, and – best of all – not have to rush plans to fit in family visits. The longer break enabled Olga to relax and get that holiday feel, in a different environment, surrounded by different people and in the glorious sunshine!
