Time To Talk 2025: Wellbeing at Corecom Consulting
At Corecom Consulting, we prioritise the health and wellbeing of our team. Maintaining positive mental health, especially in the fast-paced environment of technology recruitment, is paramount. That’s why last month, we engaged in the annual #TimeToTalk initiative created by Mind to encourage open conversations around wellbeing in the workplace and in other social settings.
Recruitment has a reputation for often leading to stress, burnout, and mental strain. To reduce the likelihood of our team experiencing this, we have made significant effort to create a supportive environment where wellbeing is prioritised, not just for individual growth, but also for fostering positive team dynamics and productivity across the team.
Mental Health First Aiders
We’re proud to have a dedicated team of Mental Health First Aiders who are trained to provide support to colleagues facing mental health challenges. These individuals are specially equipped to offer a listening ear, provide initial support, and guide team members towards appropriate resources if needed.
Our Mental Health First Aiders play a crucial role in fostering a safe and supportive environment, ensuring that mental wellbeing is just as important as physical health within our workplace.
Physical Wellbeing: Wellbeing Walks
Corecom has long promoted employee wellbeing through walking, but this month we’ve introduced dedicated weekly walking breaks to encourage everyone to step away from their desks and enjoy some fresh air, something easily neglected during winter. These regular walks encourage our team to step outside, get active, and take a break from the demands of the workday.
Whether it’s a quick stroll around the block or a longer walk in nature, it’s a great opportunity to refresh, reduce stress, and promote a healthy work-life balance. By prioritising physical wellbeing, we’re helping our team feel their best – both inside and outside.
Buddying System for New Consultants
At Corecom Consulting, we’ve implemented a Buddying System for new recruiters to help them settle into their roles with ease. Each new recruit is paired with an experienced team member who acts as a mentor, offering guidance, support, and advice as they navigate their first few months.
This system not only helps new hires feel welcome and confident but also fosters a collaborative and supportive team culture, ensuring everyone (equally) has the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
Upskilling and Attending Mental Health Awareness Events
By staying informed on the latest mental health strategies and resources, our team gains valuable insights that are shared and exchanged with one another. This knowledge empowers our staff across different departments to better recognise signs of stress, offer support, and create a more compassionate and informed workplace.
A recent example of this is Corecom’s Managing Director Jonathan Sanderson, who attended a suicide prevention course, hosted by the charity Mind. Our colleagues bring their new information back from these events to ensure we keep mental well-being high on our list of priorities.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, proactively practicing wellbeing is about taking time for each other—listening, supporting, and growing together as a team. By implementing these practices, our team at Corecom Consulting are continuing to build a workplace that values both achievement and mental wellness, creating lasting success for all.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on children with cancer and their families. Extended periods of separation and isolation, anxiety and financial hardship have all taken their toll and the need for our specialist support has become ever more critical. However, sadly, at Candlelighters, we saw our fundraising grind to a halt during the pandemic, which is why we put Team 500 into motion. And we are so thrilled that Corecom have come on board with supporting us on this initiative. In going above and beyond their fundraising goals, we are able to continue to provide critical support and make life a little brighter for the 150 families in Yorkshire devastated by a cancer diagnosis each year.
Thank you Corecom Consulting for your support, it means the world to us and to our families.
