Our Inspirational Boss is ‘Leader of the Year’ Award Finalist
Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director at Corecom Consulting, has been named ‘Leader of the Year’ finalist for a prestigious Investors in People Award.
The shortlist comes as recognition for Jonathan’s sheer passion for his company, his role, employees, the industry and for employability, demonstrated through his commitment to increasing the number of women in technology roles, sharing his knowledge and expertise, supporting charities, university students and the local community and to increasing the health and wellbeing of his employees.
Jonathan has been named an ‘inspiration’ for the following:
Increasing the number of women in technology roles
Jonathan hosted the fourth community event for women in technology in March 2019, joined by Ann-Marie Gilbert, Digital Coach and Trainer at Google:
“We recognise that young females are not choosing the technology sector because of a lack of female role models and a lack of advice and guidance for women in technology. We will continue to encourage conversations around women’s involvement in the technology industry and to showcase successful women such as Ann-Marie, in order to bridge the gender gap further.”

Female leaders who attended the event included those from Burberry, Lloyds Banking Group, EE, Sky Betting and Gaming and the University of Huddersfield.
Jonathan has used the discussions held at the event to inspire his customers and other women in technology. Each discussion has been written and published into white paper format. Jonathan has conducted podcast interviews with leading women in technology. These are available to watch, engage with and share via the Corecom Consulting website, YouTube and iTunes.
Supporting charities and the local community
Jonathan was honoured by MPs for his community work and raising awareness of the refugee crisis at the Moonlight Trust Excellence Awards in December 2018. Described as a leader who goes above and beyond supporting the local community, Founder and CEO, Noushin Raja acknowledged that Jonathan has helped Moonlight Trust move forward with their mission to help brighten lives by eradicating poverty and promoting peace love, justice and equality.
Jonathan is committed to increasing the employment prospects of students in the local community. He is a mentor to the STEM Power student society at Leeds Beckett University; a group of young women undertaking science, technology, engineering and mathematics related subjects.
Mentoring, rewarding and improving his employees
Jonathan Sanderson is committed to health and wellbeing and provided his employees with lunches at Michelin starred restaurants, days away, holidays to France and Palma de Majorca, Junkyard Crazy Golf, team building exercises, meditation, yoga classes and celebration days. He is a talented mentor, continuing to deliver guest lectures and provide one-to-one support to the previously homeless and students at local universities. Jonathan encourages every employee to dedicate at least one day each year to charity.
Jonathan fully appreciates that his team plays a pivotal role in the company’s vision. He has implemented an Employee Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which aims to improve employee morale, job satisfaction and physical and emotional wellbeing.
Jonathan regularly delivers guest lectures and chairs group discussions in partnership with course tutors and representatives at the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University on a host of topics, including networking, how to utilise LinkedIn, job applications and preparing for interviews.
