Love your Job | Four Reasons to Leave the Job that you Loathe
Do you dread the thought of going to work in a morning? You’re not alone. So many people dislike their jobs, but don’t actually do anything about it because of a fear of change, the financial risk or lack of confidence. But life really is too short to be in a job that you don’t like or to be working for an organisation that doesn’t fit with your goals, strengths and dreams. Make a change and love what you do.
Research demonstrates that having a job that you love positively impacts on your overall happiness and success in life. There is a direct correlation between happy people and higher salaries and it’s no surprise that these people are mostly happy because they have careers that they love. Having a job that you love is likely to lead to higher success and should be more important than earning a high salary or having a flashy job title.
Here are four reasons to leave the job that you loath and start a career doing what you love.
You’ll feel happier
Your career should emotionally make you feel good, providing you with additional motivation to meet your goals and succeed.
Given the increased blurred lines between people’s personal and working lives, people are feeling more and more that their personal fulfilment and growth is as important as their wage slip. Seeing your job as a way of paying the bills will result in you feeling unfulfilled and missing out in life.
If you are happy in your job, you will transfer this to others, as well as carrying this happiness into other parts of your life.
You’ll be more stimulated
If you love your job, it is likely that you will be interested in developing your knowledge about every part of the organisation. This will set you on a journey to success.
Feeling inspired and motivated in your job will have a positive impact on your drive to achieve, your productivity and, in turn, the business you work for. Working productively will provide you with downtime and an increased work-life balance.
You’ll encourage others
So many people are too afraid to make the leap to follow their dreams and to do what they love because the risk is too high. Be an inspiration to all of these people – be fulfilled by and be passionate about your career.
You’ll flourish
When you truly enjoy your job, it doesn’t feel like work. You won’t need to be motivated by others to achieve your full potential and you will always perform at your best because it excites you. When you love what you do, you are more likely to challenge yourself in order to achieve your vision.

How to find a job you love
To determine what job you will love, establish what your strengths, goals and dreams are. Talk to people that are close to you and ask them what your strengths are and go back to your childhood dreams. This will highlight your skills, some of which you may not have considered.
Life is too short – you don’t know what tomorrow will bring or where you’ll be a couple of years from now so don’t waste your time in a career you’re not happy in.
Love your job.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on children with cancer and their families. Extended periods of separation and isolation, anxiety and financial hardship have all taken their toll and the need for our specialist support has become ever more critical. However, sadly, at Candlelighters, we saw our fundraising grind to a halt during the pandemic, which is why we put Team 500 into motion. And we are so thrilled that Corecom have come on board with supporting us on this initiative. In going above and beyond their fundraising goals, we are able to continue to provide critical support and make life a little brighter for the 150 families in Yorkshire devastated by a cancer diagnosis each year.
Thank you Corecom Consulting for your support, it means the world to us and to our families.
