TestBoss: Alexa…are we testing AI or is it testing us?
Join us where we openly discuss all things AI in our TestBoss ‘World Café’ on Thursday 18 May from 6.00 – 8.30pm in Leeds City Centre. We are delighted to announce that Cassy Calvery, Leeds Hub Director at Sogeti, will be leading the event.
When asked about what discussions attendees can expect at the event, Cassy said:
“Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, AI is here. It’s in our everyday lives from the interactive speaker in the corner of your living room and smart assistants, to disease mapping for healthcare services. And it’s getting more intelligent every day.
“So, what’s the point in testing it then? I mean, can we really even test it properly? Are we testing, or training?”

What is a World Café?
It’s a simple, effective, and flexible format for hosting large group dialogue, based on the following components:
- Setting: which will basically be like, well, a café
- Welcome and introduction: a warm welcome from your hosts and an introduction to the World Café process
- Small-group rounds: these are 20-minute table conversations in groups of four. After 20 minutes, each group member moves on to a new table. They may/may not select someone as the ‘table host’ for the next round who briefs the next group on what happened in the previous round.
- Questions: each round is introduced with a question, which has been created specifically for the goals and objectives of the World Café. The same questions can be used for more than one round or they can build upon each other to guide the direction of the conversation.
- Harvest: Following or during the small groups rounds, people are encouraged to share insights and results, both spoken and visual, from their conversations with the full group.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on children with cancer and their families. Extended periods of separation and isolation, anxiety and financial hardship have all taken their toll and the need for our specialist support has become ever more critical. However, sadly, at Candlelighters, we saw our fundraising grind to a halt during the pandemic, which is why we put Team 500 into motion. And we are so thrilled that Corecom have come on board with supporting us on this initiative. In going above and beyond their fundraising goals, we are able to continue to provide critical support and make life a little brighter for the 150 families in Yorkshire devastated by a cancer diagnosis each year.
Thank you Corecom Consulting for your support, it means the world to us and to our families.
