Twenty boxes filled for Christmas shoebox appeal
For the third year running, the team at Corecom Consulting were delighted to support Operation Christmas Child. This is a charity campaign led by Samaritan’s Purse; a Christian international relief and development organisation that brings joy to children in over 150 countries.
Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered gift-filled shoeboxes to over 146 million children in more than 150 countries. Every Christmas, children from as young as two years old receive a shoebox filled with thoughtful gifts, including cuddly toys, musical instruments, school supplies and toiletries.
Sure to bring smiles to children less fortunate across the globe, the team filled up 20 shoeboxes. Their gifts will be globetrotted to children aged 2-14 in Albania, Romania, Central Asia, Macedonia, Liberia and the Middle East.
Georgina Lynskey, Recruitment Consultant at Corecom Consulting, said:
“In support of the appeal, I have prepared a shoebox for a girl aged between five and nine years old. Items I’ve added include a necklace, a fluffy notebook, stationery, stickers, lip gloss, sweets and some bubbles.
“I’m really looking forward to tracking my parcel online and seeing which country it travels to. The videos online of the children’s faces upon receiving their boxes is so moving – it requires such a small contribution, which makes a really big difference.”
Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director at Corecom Consulting, said:
“This is always a campaign our employees look forward to supporting every year. There’s no better feeling than the gift of giving and I’m really proud of the effort that everyone has put in to helping those less fortunate than ourselves.”
Corecom Consulting is committed to corporate social responsibility, achieving numerous award shortlists for its contributions to the community, to charity and to the technology industry. Each employee is encouraged to take a day out of company time each year to volunteer in the community.
