‘Spotlight on Recruitment’ event helps students for a future career in the recruitment industry
As part of Corecom Consulting’s partnership with Leeds Beckett University, Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director and Ash Grant, Talent Acquisition Manager, were invited on campus to the ‘Spotlight on Recruitment’ event.
Increasing employment prospects, the event introduced prospective students wanting to pursue a career in recruitment, to several employers in the industry, including Corecom Consulting.
Jonathan and Ash shared what graduates can expect in a graduate recruitment role, including what it takes to be a successful consultant, perks of the job and long-term benefits.
As well as networking and answering any questions, a short challenge was also presented to students to complete. They were tasked to rank the importance of each daily task in a typical day as a consultant.
Lisa Dilworth, Final Year Fashion Marketing Student at Leeds Beckett University, said:
“I found the event really informative and it gave me a great insight into a professional and rewarding career in recruitment. Before the event, I wasn’t aware of the career progression opportunities and how my people skills could be transferred into a career in recruitment. This made me even more intrigued and interested in how working for Corecom Consulting could benefit me and my career goals.
I now look forward into the possibility of potentially working for the company.”
Ash Grant, Talent Acquisition Manager, commented:
“The Spotlight on Recruitment Event was a great way of engaging with potential talent for Corecom Consulting. It was informative and an opportunity for students to find out more about the day to day role of a recruitment consultant within our business, as well as taking part in various tasks. I have had feedback from students since the event and it seems they came away with a better understanding of the industry and the role of a recruitment consultant, as well as the skills needed to be a success in the industry.”
Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director at Corecom Consulting, said:
“As an alumnus, I am excited to be working alongside the University in the delivery of curriculum-based lectures and workshops, supporting and mentoring the STEMPower society and educating students at insightful and interactive events, such as this one.”
