‘Speed networking’ assists digital and tech university students
As part of a continued partnership with Leeds Beckett University, Corecom Consulting has participated in events to offer valuable advice to students and graduates in order to increase employment prospects.
Josh Dixon, Head of Software Development and Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director were invited to take part in an afternoon Q&A session with digital technology students and graduates. Josh and Jonathan answered questions from students alongside peers in the technology industry from Infinity Works and Sky Betting and Gaming.
Three key questions asked were:
- “What is the most important non-technology trait employers are looking for?”
- “What attributes do you look for when recruiting?”
- “What advice would help me get into the sector?”
In groups of three, students from the School of Computing, Creative Technologies and Engineering shared their CVs and sought guidance on how to demonstrate their skills during interviews.
“My role as a Consultant is to provide the best information and advice to help candidates get to where they want to be.”
“Taking part in the session allowed me to highlight how Corecom Consulting provides recruitment services to cut out the wasted time and effort encountered during a job search and point them in a clear direction towards the employers best suited to them.”
“We are committed to supporting students and graduates in the local area. As an alumnus of the University, I wanted to share my experiences and advice in order to inspire students and help them progress in their career.”
“One characteristic employers are looking for is passion. If graduates can demonstrate how they have furthered their knowledge outside of their studies, then it puts them one step ahead of the competition.”
