I am the Marketing Director at Corecom. My role involves creating and implementing relevant marketing strategies and plans which meet company goals and objectives. The team and I manage all aspects of marketing, from content plans, articles and press releases, through to events, video interviews, marketing campaigns and brand management.

What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?

My day usually starts at 6.30am, which involves getting up (first thing coffee), getting breakfast ready for my two children, getting them ready for school and doing the school run. I will usually start work between 9.00 – 10.00am depending on whether I am working from home or go into the Leeds office. I will always visit Starbucks for an Americano with milk on my way to the office! Once I arrive I will usually have a quick catch-up with those who are in that day, some of whom I may not have seen in a while (I work part-time and due to hybrid working). 

Whilst in the office I will focus on marketing meetings, interviews, planning and gathering visual content so that when I work from home I can do the implementation. Lunch time always involves shopping when I’m working in the office (exercise when I’m at home) or lunch out with members of the team.  

My working day will usually finish between 5.00 – 6.00pm when I will go and collect my children, take them home and then I’m straight on with tea and their bath times. Once they are in bed I will usually exercise – I’ll do a HIT session or I will watch a TV series whilst on the exercise bike or cross trainer. 

What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?

I have worked at Corecom since 2015 – this is evidence in itself to show that I love working here! Working alongside inspirational leaders is one of the reasons I like working at Corecom. Also, working with a team who are not only committed to supporting each other to achieve outstanding results, but who also have resulted in great friendships is another. 

As a Marketing Department, we are delighted to have won Best In-house Marketing Team at the Prolific North Champions Awards and Best Creative Candidate Attraction Campaign at the Northern Marketing Awards in 2021. It’s a bonus to be awarded for producing work that I love doing.

How do you spend those well deserved days off?

Doing fun things and going places with my children, organising their busy social lives (ha!), exercising, yoga, lots of time with friends and family and love a bit of interior design. Oh, and I am currently training to be an exercise to dance teacher (just for fun).

What job would you be terrible at?

Joinery – I can’t even put a shelf on the wall straight.

What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?

Every day you should do three things that make you happy – whether that’s as small as getting a coffee at Starbucks – to exercising, lunch out or catching up with a friend. Do three things – just for you.
