What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?
I start my day at 6.45, and I make sure I catch up with news and what’s going on in the world (and in the tech world). I get into work around 20 mins early, grab my first of many coffees and my breakfast and review my notes from the day before; making sure I haven’t missed anything on my day plan. We then have our daily stand up, which I like as it reminds me of the way genuine tech companies work. Here I am able to get advice and also share my successes which I think helps and starts the day well.
Then my day consists of Business Development (trying to source work or meeting with existing clients) and also then I work on trying to find/interview candidates for jobs I am sourcing on behalf of my clients.
My working day will usually finish at 6.00pm and my evenings can consist of gaming, painting or learning Spanish (every Wednesday).
What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?
I really enjoy working with my colleagues and enjoying socials with them! We also have a lot of scope, and due to being one of the most reputable recruitment consultancies in the UK, we work with great clients who value a good service.
How do you spend those well deserved days off?
I enjoy socialising with my friends, music (whether that’s enjoying it live or just finding new/ancient artists), I love to paint and access my creative side and when I don’t want to do any of that, I love Video Games.
What job would you be terrible at?
Compliance in any capacity.
What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?
Sleep – try to rest before you get tired, everything feels worse when you’re exhausted.
What I wanted from this partnership was to be able to take a step back and free me up to focus on my other responsibilities in addition to recruitment. Working with Corecom alone made everything so straight forward. I wasn’t having to chase up several agencies and there was no duplication of candidates. Tunstall was their no1 focus and I trusted them to deliver, which they did. There was noticeable improvements in CV-to-interview and interview-to-placement ratios which was a real pain point before changing the model on how we worked together. Working on a retained basis gave me confidence that extra effort and resource would be put in to filling the roles.
