As an Associate Delivery Consultant, I am responsible for sourcing candidates for a variety of roles within the IT sector. My role is much more candidate focused so I spend most of my time building relationships to ensure that I am matching individuals with the right role for them.

What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?
I usually wake up at 6:00am and make myself a cup of tea and put on a podcast while I get ready. Then make some breakfast (usually beans on toast) and watch the news before setting off at 7:00 to avoid some of the morning traffic on the motorway. I usually treat myself to a smoothie from Pret on my way to work and like to get into the office early so I can prepare for the morning meeting.
I usually spend the mornings working on admin, booking calls and meetings with candidates and clients, and posting job ads for roles I plan on working on later in the week. I spend the rest of the day calling and emailing candidates, writing coversheets for CVs and booking interviews for successful candidates. I usually take a walk during my lunch (at least on sunny days) or have a catch up and go for lunch with the team. When I finish for the day, I drive home, cook dinner, and usually persuade myself to go to the gym. Then I spend my evening binging a new show (often a terribly good reality show such as Below Deck), knitting, or reading until it’s time for bed. On Fridays, I might go out with the team for a drink but I’m definitely not a night owl so still go home at a reasonable time.
What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?
I haven’t been at Corecom very long but have loved it so far. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and I enjoy that the team aren’t stereotypical recruiters. I also enjoy having the opportunity to work on a variety of roles each week, no two days are the same.
How do you spend those well deserved days off?
I enjoy going to the gym – and am currently competing against my boyfriend in a bid to become the fitter of the two of us! On other days, I prefer to go for a walk, preferably with my dog, Kai, or take my sister swimming, as she dreams of becoming an Olympian when she’s older. I also joined a book club during lockdown, so enjoy reading (and buying so many books that I’ll never have time to read them all).
What job would you be terrible at?
Public speaker – speaking in front of the entire office is enough for me!
What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?
Celebrate all of your achievements, no matter how small.
What I wanted from this partnership was to be able to take a step back and free me up to focus on my other responsibilities in addition to recruitment. Working with Corecom alone made everything so straight forward. I wasn’t having to chase up several agencies and there was no duplication of candidates. Tunstall was their no1 focus and I trusted them to deliver, which they did. There was noticeable improvements in CV-to-interview and interview-to-placement ratios which was a real pain point before changing the model on how we worked together. Working on a retained basis gave me confidence that extra effort and resource would be put in to filling the roles.
