What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?

Usually I wake up around 6.15am and first things first is a shower, then I will have some breakfast which is usually a bowl of Coco Rocks (they’re amazing) or Nutella on toast. Then if I am working from our Leeds office I will get dressed and make sure I’ve got everything packed for the day (especially my laptop charger) and aim to leave for 7am.

After an hour journey, I park up and sometimes treat myself to a bacon sandwich and hot chocolate from our café a few floors below and then up to the office. From there we have a morning meeting and then our ‘Team Contract’ meeting to plan the day ahead.

I’m usually starving again by 11.00am but I try hold on until lunch time at around 1.00pm and then go into Leeds and make what seems like the hardest choice of my life which is: “what’s for dinner?”

Once I leave the office at around 6.00pm it’s another hour journey home to arrive roughly 7.00pm and then inside to quickly get changed, take my pre-workout and head to the gym. I aim to leave there around 8:30pm and then home again for tea. After that is usually a wind down and then time for bed (unless I have some more work to do).

What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?

I started Corecom in May 2021 and it’s the best thing I’ve done. Being surrounded by so many people who want to see you do well really drives you to be the best you can be and do the best you can every day.

There are always people who can help and I love that there is no such thing as a stupid question, especially for someone new into recruitment. Another thing I really like about working at Corecom is how we share our wins – a win is a win no matter how big or small and everyone loves it, always hyping each other up and it’s great.

How do you spend those well deserved days off?

When I’m not working you will usually find me in the gym or at a Motocross track… although that tends to be more on weekends and a bit less when its -2 outside! In the summer, shooting and fishing are also something I do a lot. 

What job would you be terrible at? 

I honestly don’t have an answer for this one  – I can’t think of anything other than a cleaner haha!

What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?

Winners never quit and quitters never win (my Dad).

What I wanted from this partnership was to be able to take a step back and free me up to focus on my other responsibilities in addition to recruitment.
