Corecom Consulting is Corporate Social Responsibility Award Finalist
Award winning IT Recruitment Consultancy, Corecom Consulting, has been shortlisted as a Finalist for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year at the National APSCo Awards for Excellence 2016. These coveted annual awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the professional recruitment sector.
The accolade has been awarded for Corecom’s Corporate Social Responsibility contributions. The company holds a partnership with Emmaus Leeds; a charity that supports twenty six formerly homeless people (known as Companions) by providing them with a stable home and meaningful work for as long as they need it.
Over the last twelve months Corecom Consulting has provided significant support to Emmaus, delivering free training sessions, workshops, a Christmas fundraiser, mentorship and employees have volunteered in the charity’s retail shop. The objectives of the initiatives are to generate funds for the charity and to increase the employment prospects of Companions.
Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director at Corecom Consulting, said:
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the APSCo CSR Initiative of the Year Award. All employees at Corecom Consulting support the Emmaus belief that ‘people who are homeless and socially excluded have something valuable to offer.’
“By encouraging companions to use and develop their career and employability skills, we can contribute to helping them make positive changes to their own life and the community around them.”
Dave Kirk, Companion at Emmaus Leeds, said:
“This is really good idea (me attending the course), even though I am as old as the hills I can still learn. This helps me improve myself and the business as it’s important that I use the right tools for the role I play at Emmaus in the collections office.”
The initiatives have been recognised and congratulated by Stuart Andrew, MP – House of Commons:
“It was inspiring to learn of the partnership between Corecom Consulting and Emmaus Leeds. It’s clearly of great value to Emmaus in helping the people they support get the skills that they need to help improve their life chances.”
Corecom Consulting will need to go through a rigorous interview process in front of a judging panel before the winner is announced at an Awards Ceremony in London, sponsored by Natwest and CXC Global on 18 October 2016. They are one of three to be shortlisted, up against rivals Nicoll Curtin, Annapurna Recruitment and SThree.
